Maria Flynn
Practice Nurse
Maria graduated as a paediatric nurse from Our Lady’s Hospital for Sick Children, before doing a post graduate in general nursing in St. Michaels Hospital. She completed her diploma in Practice Nursing in the Royal College of Surgeons, Dublin and obtained certification in family planning in conjunction with the Irish Family Planning Association.

Having gained experience in paediatric nursing in both ENT and oncology departments, she went to work in the A&E Department of St. Michaels Hospital and the orthopaedic/surgical department of the Blackrock Clinic. Maria also gained experience working in Australia.
Maria joined the Barrowview Medical Practice team in 2006 and after taking a sabbatical returned to the Practice in 2017. She has continued her professional development in cervical smear taking, ear care, smoking cessation and phlebotomy.
Maria’s areas of special interest are Cervical Smear Taking, Paediatric Immunisation and Phlebotomy.
